Are you excited about the characteristics of the Bengal breed?  They are awesome fun and interactive.  Some common characteristics include:

  • likes to climb up high
  • curious and interactive
  • likes to walk on leash, especially if taught young
  • likes to play fetch
  • likes to play in water
  • likes to play

I love all cats.  In my experience, a Bengal is a fascinating, loving, fun, adorable piece of the jungle added to our house.  I’m crazy about my Bengals and I love how they are crazy about me.  It warms my heart when one comes running up at top speed just for some love. I think it’s cool how cats, especially Bengals can train me to do things. Like when Skoshi runs up for a pet, then perches attentively in front of her favorite toy.  I never tire of enjoying the fun and beauty of all cats, and especially my Bengals.

Are you ok with a cat that climbs up on top of things? A Bengal will want to go up high. It’s just their nature. Cat trees provide a place to climb up and view the world from above. You can train them not to climb on things, but better yet, provide them with a fun safe climbing post.

A well socialized loving Bengal will want to be with you and want your attention. If you want an interactive cat that loves to play with you and gives you attention, you will really enjoy this about your Bengal.

Energetic and Amusing!  While the adult is more sedate and calm compared to the kitten, they still enjoy fun and play as adult cats.

Also consider the cost of caring for your Bengal. Are you able and willing to afford high quality nutrition? Proper nutrition is important in preventing health issues with all cats, including your Bengal. Proper veterinary care, including dental care, is also part of the equation.  Proper vaccinations, which means going to  a veterinarian who uses high quality vaccines (and does not over vaccinate) is also part of caring for your Bengal.  You get what you pay for: in purchasing and caring for your Bengal.
